This 10-hour mini-course is for teachers working in EEC licensed (or license-exempt) programs that are interested in learning more about the internationally recognized Reggio Emilia approach to teaching and learning with young children. The course introduces you to the history, philosophy, and fundamental values of the approach in a way that encourages you to deepen and extend your own teaching and learning practices with young children. The course provides a foundation for people attending the Wonder of Learning event in Boston so that they can more fully engage with, and appreciate the exhibition.
Topics and ideas included in the course:
* The image of the child and how it impacts our interactions with children,
* Teachers as professional listeners,
* The hundred languages of children,
* The role of pedagogical documentation.
