An introduction to Hatha Yoga practice. Students learn classical yoga postures such as standing poses, backbends, forward bends, hip openers, balances, inversions and restorative poses. Students study alignment principles of Yoga and incorporate basic philosophy, meditation and deep relaxation into each class for a well-rounded, active and enjoyable practice. The course follows a sequential flow building knowledge and skills from week to week. Students gain sufficient practical knowledge to sustain independent yoga practice. This is a non-credit option of LED 171.
