A fascinating program on automobile manufacturing in Springfield, with history that goes back to pre-Revolutionary times and the Springfield Armory. The Duryea (1893), the Knox (1899), Atlas touring cars (1911), the Rolls Royce in the 1920s, the Indian motorcycle (1901-53)—all built in Springfield, with a little help from local factories. Jerre Hoffman and Keith Korbut helped create the Early Transportation Gallery and the History on the Move Car Show at the Springfield Museums and have done many programs together.
